Chapter Sixty-three

Monier was aware of the electrical activity around her. It was slowly dropping off as the Citadel began to understand the nature of the threat. With no results from its weapons and no evidence of damage to it, it began to deactivate some of its weapons.

Monier realized it. The electrical activity was falling away so she began to create hot spots. She thought that she might be able to convince the Citadel to shut down some of its systems if it believed that they were about to be damaged by heat. She sensed where they would be the most effective and kept at it until the electrical activity descreased near it. Then she shifted her attention to another area. If the Citadel tried to reactivate a system, she hit it again. She wanted it to believe that it was too hot to function.
